CBSE to Launch Class 12 Answer Book Verification and Re-Evaluation Portal by May 29

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has stated that its online portal for verifying and re-verifying Class 12 answer books will be made available to students from May 29, 2026. The announcement came in light of ongoing apprehensions about the OSM system of CBSE as well as the availability of evaluated answer books of the candidates.

This information has been shared in the latest post-result status update bulletin from the CBSE that was published on Tuesday. As per CBSE, students who are looking forward to verification and re-evaluation of their marks can apply via the new online portal after it gets activated by the end of this week.

Furthermore, CBSE has also shared new data about the number of scanned copies of evaluated answer books requested. According to CBSE, around 4 lakh applicants have applied for scanned copies of answer scripts of more than 11 lakh answer books.

From among these applications, around 9 lakh answer books have been successfully made available to the students through the website and e-mail IDs provided by the board. The rest of the applications will soon be processed as well.

According to the Board, the electronic distribution system has been established to ensure transparency in the process as well as help the students in the post-examination period.

This move follows a number of allegations as well as glitches encountered while using the recently introduced On-Screen Marking system employed in evaluating the Class 12 board examinations this year.

Several students and parents complained about difficulties like failure in payment, login troubles, and delays in downloading scanned answer sheets and/or making applications for re-evaluation within the specified time frame.

Further controversy followed after some students raised complaints regarding discrepancies in their scanned answer sheets. The online world took note of one of such cases where a student pointed out that the handwriting in the uploaded answer sheets for Physics exam was not his own.

It was also made clear by the CBSE that there have been some errors in certain instances and that the corrected versions of the answer papers would be provided through the registered email address. Result corrections, where required, were also assured.

Moreover, in light of the cybersecurity issues raised, it is important to highlight that the site that was mentioned in connection with some security loopholes in the reports was only the test website of CBSE OnMark and not the live evaluation website.

Instructions will be released in detail once the portal becomes active.
